About Dr. Bug

Marcus (AKA Dr. Bug) has always been fascinated by the sci-fi like world of insects. As a child he would spend his free time observing bugs. Bugs that walk across water. Moths that look like hummingbirds and flies that look like bees. Beetles writhing their way through a dead animal. Since then he has worked at the Maryland Zoo, Smithsonian, and spent years in Florida and the tropics studying the diversity of insects living in the tropics. I am excited in inspiring the same awe and wonder in future Dr. Bugs. Join Your Bug Club to learn more.

Our mission is to foster a sense of awe and wonder of bugs and the natural world in your little ones, through creative lesson plans and activities.

“I wanted to know the name of every stone and flower and insect and bird and beast. I wanted to know where it got its color, where it got its life - but there was no one to tell me."
